Anthony Mirabile - Drummer/Percussionist.............Anthony Mirabile
started studying drums at the age of ten with Arthur Dextradeur (big band
Broadway show drummer from New York). Being influenced by cousin and
music-mentor James Barbour, he was exposed to Miles Davis, John Coltrane,
Charlie Parker, Tony Williams, Elvin jones, Joe Morello and many others at
a very young age. Barbour, himself a drummer, who at the age of 17 had
played behind Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Grant Green and Jackie McClean to
name a few. At the age of 16, Anthony began playing jazz and other styles
with Barbour who was by this time, leading his own vibes trio. As his
involvement in music progressed and his studies continued, music would
take him all over the USA. Playing with the likes of Steve Cohn and Milton
Hamilton (Pharoah Sanders piano player), his talent and need to study grew
to the point that in 1990, he was accepted at The Drummers Collective (New
Yorks premier drum school). Performing in all types of musical settings on
a daily basis would only increase his appetite to study with the best
available. As a Musician/Drummer with extensive experiences in a wide
variety of entertainment environments, he has performed in almost every
major city in the USA. He studied with extraordinary performers and is a
graduate of the much acclaimed Drummers Collective of New York. He is an
excellent reader with a special interest in Jazz and Latin music. In
essence, he is a well rounded professional with diverse and extensive
experience. Playing in various bands from coast to coast, in Boston (
where he was able to study weekly for almost a year with Alan Dawson) to
New York, Miami, Las Vegas, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc. in
various musical settings:i.e., dance, show, jazz, ethnic variety, etc,
Anthony is a remarkably underdocumented jazz drummer in the finest
American Jazz Tradition. Since meeting "Doc Holiday" 4 years ago, Anthony
has decided to take his music and art form to a major level, exposing that
form to a world wide audience. Since taking that giant step of fusing
creativity and commerciality 2 years ago, Anthony has produced and starred
in his own TV show on television called.....Mirabile-The Night Walker.
Recorded a nationally distributed 18 song CD called....Mirabile-Portrait
Of An Artist, that is didtributed throughout the USA in all major retail
outlets. Anthony has had numerous cameo appearances on the Doc Holiday
Show. Anthony has a cameo appearance in the music video "About Her",
recorded bt former Telly Award winner- Brett Williams. Plus he has
embarked on technical training which encompasses Audio Engineering and
R.T.I.A. certification as a Pro Tools Technician. The future for Anthony
looks bright, as he pursues every possible aspect of the entertainment
industry producing other artists on a major level. Anthony engineered and
recorded The Stainless Steel Ball in Norfolk, Va. Produced by Doc Holiday
and Bill Reid at the Norva. He is in the studio at the Power Plant in
Hampton recording "T.F. Bundy", a soon to be nationally released
band.
He is also recording another upcoming album by Doc Holiday. Under
normal conditions this would be considered the end of this biography,
However, at this point we have no other choice but to title it -
THE
